I create animated video collages by layering and abstracting content found on line, such as MySpace backgrounds and gifs that are then woven together in final cut pro. The images are both hypnotizing and disturbing. The quantity of sensory information evokes attraction and anxiety, confronting the viewer as they are asked to reexamine the role of the image within the public sphere of the Internet. The viewer cannot fully digest the imagery, exposing its transient nature. We are left with many parts which never add up to a whole, flows of information that do not connect, repeated forms hypnotize the senses.
